It is a child correctional institution that aims at the ultimate welfare of children who are in need of care and protection under the Juvenile Justice Act.
Widows, Divorced, Deserted and Destitute Women above 18 yrs who have nobody to look after are admitted in mahila mandiram.
there are a total of 33115 Anganwadis across the state
An overnight shelter(6.30pm to 7.30am) for destitute women and children, free of charge, is being implemented in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram districts in the state.
Objective of providing safe accommodation for women coming from different districts for urgent needs in the capital city at nominal charge of INR 150/- per day

The Smart Anganwadiwill have the infrastructure required and will focus on the over all development of children. In the pilot stage there are 210 Anganwadies will be constructed on 10Cents, 7 Cents, 5Cents 3 Cents and< 3 cents

The Welfare fund is functioning under a Chief Executive Officer attached to the Directorate of WCD, and an accountant attached to all District Offices. District WCD Officer is the district level inspecting officer. The benefits provided loans for education, treatment, marriage, house construction, and educational award.
The commission perfoms as a statutary body,it performs on all matters relating to women's problems.The commission inquire into the complaints of any unfair practice and take on decisions.Then the commission will recommend to the government,what action to be taken in that matter.
