Pradhana Manthri Mathru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY)

PMMVY, a maternity benefit programme is being run by the department since 01/01/2017.  The scheme is implementing in Kerala using the platform of Ankanawadi Services of Umbrella ICDS. The scheme is implemented through a centrally deployed MIS with the aim of compensating partial wage loss, Improve health seeking behaviour, Improve nutritional status and to promote exclusive breast feeding. Cash incentive of Rs.5000/- will be transferred directly to pregnant and lactating women’s adhar seeded bank account.

Beneficiaries

All pregnant women and lactating mothers, excluding those who are in regular employment with the central government, state government or PSUs or those who are in receipt of similar benefits under any law for the time being in force.  The benefit will be given for the first living child in the family subject to fulfilling the scheme specific conditions. The benefit will be transferred in three instalment such as first instalment Rs.1000/-, second instalment, Rs.2000/- Third instalment Rs.2000/-.

 Process of claiming benefit

For claiming the benefit the Pregnant woman or Lactating Mother should register at AWC.

First instalment: The applicant is required to submit duly filled form 1 A within 150 days from LMP at AWC  along with copy of MCP card or any document from health facility , proof of identity of beneficiary and husband and bank account passbook copy.

Second instalment: The applicant is required to submit duly filled form 1B along with copy of MCP card or any document from health facility (the beneficiary become eligible for the second claim only after completing six months of pregnancy but one can apply for the second instalment along with 1st)

Third instalment:  The applicant is required to submit duly filled form 1C along with copy of child birth registration certificate and copy of MCP card or any document from health facility showing first cycle of immunisation details.

After child receives first cycle of immunisation ie BCG, OPV, DPT, Hep.B

  2. Copy of Birth Registration Certificate
  3. Copy of Immunisation card
